Panjim:- comprehensive Cyber Awareness Programme was recently conducted at INS Hansa, Goa, by Vasco Police Station Cyber Team in collaboration with South Cyber Cell benefiting over 500 Navy officers. The session aimed to enhance awareness about cyber threats and promote safe digital practices among the armed forces personnel.
Key Highlights of the Programme:
• PSI Nikhil Dessai and PC Ranjit Vaigankar from Vasco Police Station delivered both theoretical and practical insights into various aspects of cyber crimes, focusing on real-world scenarios and prevention strategies.
• PSI Soumshekar shared valuable inputs on emerging cyber trends, helping the officers understand the evolving nature of cyber threats.
• PC Steeven and a team of 8 Cyber Yodhas from Vasco, Mormugao, and Verna Police Stations actively engaged with the attendees, offering guidance and clarifications throughout the programme.
• PC Ranjit Vaigankar emphasized three critical factors contributing to cyber crimes: Negligence, Greed, and Fear. He also introduced key web links and mobile applications designed to help individuals stay informed and protected against the latest cyber frauds.
The programme proved to be a valuable initiative in strengthening cyber resilience within the naval community and was met with enthusiastic participation and positive feedback from all attendees.
