Labour Day to be Celebrated on May 1.. CM to Present Shram Gaurav Awards
Panaji : Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant will present the prestigious Shram Gaurav Awards 2025 to 20 deserving individuals representing various segments of the unorganized sector — including migrant, domestic, industrial, and municipal workers — as part of the Labour Day celebrations on May 1, 2025.
The event is being organized by the Office of the Commissioner, Labour and Employment, in collaboration with M/s. Disha Foundation, and will take place at 10:00 a.m. at the Model Career Centre Training Hall, 4th Floor, Shram Shakti Bhavan, Patto, Panaji.
The Minister for Labour will preside over the function.
In addition to the awards ceremony, special awareness programmes will be conducted across the state to sensitize workers in the industrial, construction, and other sectors. These programmes aim to inform workers about the various welfare schemes implemented by the Office of the Commissioner, Labour and Employment, Goa Labour Welfare Board, and the Goa Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.
Awareness sessions will be held at the following venues:

Hall attached to Thivim Industrial Estate, Karaswada, Mapusa
Industrial Owners Association Hall, Bicholim Industrial Estate, Bicholim

GIDC Hall, Verna Industrial Estate, Verna
Nakeri-Betul Panchayat Hall (Old), Quepem
All workers and employees in these sectors are encouraged to attend the sessions nearest to them and take advantage of the schemes and welfare measures available through the Labour Department.
