Governor Visits Parcem, Kasarpal, Valpoi, and Betim Under “Khushal Kalyan Yatra”
Panaji : As part of the ongoing “Khushal Kalyan Yatra,” the Hon’ble Governor of Goa, Shri P. S. Sreedharan Pillai, undertook his fourth round of visits to various parts of North Goa today, covering Parcem in Pernem, Kasarpal in Bicholim, Valpoi, and Betim in Bardez taluka. The First Lady of Goa, Smt. Rita Sreedharan Pillai, accompanied him during the yatra.
The Governor commenced the day by offering prayers at the revered Shree Bhagwati Temple in Parcem, Pernem. He was warmly welcomed by local MLA Shri Praveen Arlekar, along with Shri Anand Rao Dessai, Treasurer of the temple, and committee members Manguish Desai, Shamsundar Naik Desai, and Surendra Desai. A formal felicitation ceremony was held, where the Governor was honoured with a shawl, Sreephal, and a memento by Shri Praveen Arlekar and Parcem Sarpanch Shri Ajay Kalangutkar.
Following this, the Governor visited Hutatma Chowk in Parcem, where he paid homage to the martyrs by laying a wreath at the memorial.
At Shree Devi Mahamaya Kalika Temple in Kasarpal, Bicholim taluka, the Governor and the First Lady offered prayers. He was welcomed by local MLA Dr. Chandrakant Shetye and temple authorities.
Continuing the yatra, the Governor visited Shree Hanuman Temple in Valpoi, where he was received by Shri Deelip Karpe, President of Shree Hanuman Devasthan Samiti, Smt. Prasanna Gawas, Chairperson of Valpoi Municipal Council, and Shri Tulshidas Kanekar, among others.
The Governor also visited the Zamiya Masjid in Valpoi, where he was greeted by Shri Khudbuddin Shah, President, Shri Akhtar Shah, and other community leaders. Prayers were offered by the Maulana on behalf of the Governor.
Later, the Governor visited Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Valpoi and offered prayers. He was welcomed by Parish Priest Fr. Winston Barbosa, along with Assistant Priest Fr. Robert, Fr. Agnelo Fernandes, Fr. Lawrenco, and others.
The final stop of the day was at the Gurudwara in Betim, Bardez, where the Governor paid his respects and offered prayers.
Throughout the “Khushal Kalyan Yatra,” the Governor offered prayers at each place of worship, invoking divine blessings for the peace, prosperity, and well-being of the people of Goa and the nation. As a gesture of goodwill and support, the Governor presented a cheque of ₹50,000 to each holy place visited.
The Governor was accompanied by Shri Sanjeev Gauns Desai, Secretary to the Governor; Shri R. Mihir Vardhan, Special Officer to the Governor; Shri Sanjeev Sardesai, Historian; Shri A. Kalyana Harsha, Comptroller of the Governor’s Household; and other officials.
