Candolim : In a major push towards infrastructure development in Candolim village, Panchayat Minister Shri Mauvin Godinho inaugurated the newly renovated Panchayat Ghar and Hall on Thursday. The event was attended by Hon’ble MLA of Calangute Constituency, Shri Michael V. Lobo, along with other dignitaries and community members.

The renovated Panchayat Ghar and Hall, constructed under the XV Finance Commission Grants, is set to serve as a key venue for community activities, meetings, and events. This project aims to enhance the quality of life for residents and promote community engagement.

Minister Mauvin Godinho emphasized the government’s commitment to rural development, stating, “The renovation of the Panchayat Ghar and Hall is a significant step towards empowering our rural communities. We are dedicated to providing the necessary infrastructure and support to ensure the growth and prosperity of our villages.”

MLA Michael Lobo lauded the efforts of the Panchayat and the government, saying, “It is wonderful to see the progress in Candolim village. The renovated Panchayat Ghar and Hall will be a valuable asset to our community, and I will continue to support initiatives that benefit our residents.”

New Infrastructure Projects Unveiled

Alongside the inauguration, the foundation stone was laid for a Faecal Sludge Treatment Plant (FSTP) comprising two 40 KLD units under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin). Other key projects inaugurated include:

A football ground at Arady, funded under the 60th Year Goa Liberation Fund

A Material Recovery Facility (MRF) for waste management

A hearse van for community use.Two sewerage tankers to improve sanitation services. A cricket pitch to boost sports activities A jumbo tractor for local agricultural and developmental work.

A renovated Women Self Help Group shop to support womenentrepreneurs.

Expressing gratitude for the initiatives, Sarpanch Salvador Blaize Fernandes stated, “We are thankful to the government for supporting the development of Candolim village. These projects will greatly benefit our community, and we look forward to continued support and collaboration.”

With these new developments, Candolim village is set to become a more attractive and livable destination, offering enhanced infrastructure, better community facilities, and improved public services for both residents and visitors
