Shetyawaddo Ward No. 7 Mapusa : Long Wait Ends as Roadwork Begins
The long-pending road construction opposite St. Francis Xavier High School in Shetyawaddo, Ward No. 7, has finally begun. The provision for this road was approved 35 years ago, but despite repeated requests from local residents to various municipal councilors, the work never started.
In 2024, Councilor Dr. Tarak Arolkar took the initiative and secured approval for the project, ensuring that the long-awaited roadwork commenced. A budget of ₹4,70,000 has been sanctioned for this project, and work officially began year
As soon as the work started, some individuals attempted to halt it by filing a complaint against the Mapusa Municipality at the police station and later seeking intervention in court. Despite these hurdles, Councilor Dr. Tarak Arolkar personally visited the site, supervised the work, and ensured the smooth progress of the project.
The residents of the area are delighted that the roadwork is finally underway. They expressed their gratitude to Councilor Dr. Tarak Arolkar, recognizing him as a leader committed to public welfare and development.
The councilor urged citizens not to obstruct public development projects. He emphasized that any disputes should be resolved amicably to maintain harmony in the community, ensuring smoother collaboration between citizens and elected representatives for the betterment of the ward.
