Nagpur : Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant, expressed his pleasure in attending and addressing the inaugural function of the First International
Symposium on Tribal Health (FIST 2025) at Nagpur. The event was organized by the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) and AIIMS Nagpur, in the esteemed presence of Maharashtra’s Minister for Tribal Welfare Shri Ashok Uike, MUHS Vice Chancellor Lt. Gen. Dr. Madhuri Kanitkar, AIIMS Nagpur Executive Director & CEO Dr. Prashant Joshi, and other distinguished dignitaries.
CM Sawant congratulated MUHS and AIIMS Nagpur for hosting this crucial symposium dedicated to the upliftment of the tribal community, focusing on their health and overall development. He emphasized the efforts of the
Government of India, under the leadership of Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji, in enhancing infrastructure, healthcare, and essential facilities for tribal communities, ensuring their ease of living.
The Chief Minister also acknowledged the contributions of organizations like Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, which have been working selflessly to uplift tribal communities while preserving their unique traditions and indigenous wisdom. He further highlighted that government efforts, combined with active participation from organizations and institutions, are essential for the holistic development of tribal communities, aligning with the vision of Viksit Bharat (Developed India).
The symposium marks a significant step toward strengthening healthcare initiatives for tribal populations and fostering collaborative efforts to ensure their well-being.
